individuals ; also, I have been forced to
leave quite unnoticed certain aspects of this
restoration of the applied arts, as, for
example, the art of the Theatre, in which
our decorators before the war were dis-
playing so much ability. I realize, too, as
I bring these very incomplete jottings to a
close, that there are many artists demand-
ing attention whose very names I have not
so much as mentioned—artists of the stamp
of Mme. O'Kin-Simmen, MM. Avenard,
Brindeau de Jarny, Landry, Jacquin,
Hairon, Hamm, Rivaud, Simmen, Methey,
Stern, Dresa, Schenck, Roux-Champion,
Rapin, Kieffer, Mangeant, Mmes. Cazin,
Lecreux, Oermain, Lalique, and MM,
Soccard, Sandoz, Roche, Lachenal, Na-
than, Ballet, Hirtz, Decorchemont, Giral-
don, Moreau-Nelaton, Bonvallet, Plumet.
I am really embarrassed and very sorry !

Gabriel Mourey.

“'THE STUDIO’ YEAR-BOOK OF
DECORATIVE ART, 1920.” * *

THE fifteenth annual issue of this Year-
Book is now in preparation, and the
Editor will be glad to receive from archi-
tects, designers, etc., examples of their
work with a view to reproduction in the
volume. Besides designs for residences
of various types, he proposes as before to
deal fully with interior decoration and the
general equipment of the house, including
furniture, fireplaces, wall-coverings, wood
and metal work, pottery, porcelain, glass-
ware, textile fabrics, embroidery, etc.
Designs should reach the editorial office
of The Studio, 44 Leicester Square,
London, W.C.2, by January 1, 1920.
Photographs will suffice in most cases,
but drawings in colour of exteriors and
interiors will be acceptable. 0 0
