FOLLOWING up the series of repro-
ductions which illustrated the article in
our last issue on the Exhibition of Decor-
ative Art at the Royal Academy, we now
give a further series, comprising, in addi-
tion to a few more works which with those
already reproduced formed part of the
main section of the exhibition, various
objects belonging to the special section
organised by the Arts and Crafts Exhi-
bition Society. 0 0 0 0

Though small in comparison with the

exhibition which this Society held at
Burlington House seven years ago, when
all the galleries were called into service,
the Arts and Crafts Section in the exhi-
bition just concluded was interesting alike
in the great variety of the crafts repre-
sented and in the high standard, both of
design and workmanship, which was in
evidence throughout. Mr. Selwyn Image,
when lecturing at the Academy during the
exhibition on “ The Rise, Aims, and Early
Days of the Arts and Crafts Movement,”
reminded his hearers that the primary
purpose of the Society, which came into
existence thirty-five years ago, was not so
much to enhearten its members in their
