Another factor stimulating interest in the rational housing development was the presence of
the active members of the Rfg: Adolf Rading (from 1919) and Gustav Wolf (from 1927) in Wroclaw.
The Rfg conducted research focused on rational solutions in domestic architecture and sponsored
the construction of model housing estates. The WUWA housing estate was also built under the aus-
pices of the Rfg.
In 1929 Adolf Rothenberg wrote that in the field of housing Wroclaw had already accomplished
major and pioneering work and that all existing new housing estates provided an excellent context
for the WUWA exhibition, emphasising its objectives and importance.289
