The Polish visitors also liked the presentations staged at the Exhibition Hall (Messehalle), de-
voted to building materials and technologies, construction methods and interior design.434 "The
exhibition reflects a solid, diligent and focused effort", observed an appreciative commentator.435
The presentation of the Civil Engineering Faculty of the local Technical University (arranged at the
Centennial Hall) and the Work Space section 436, were criticised as being too modest.437

randomly selected and does not seem representative of the planning approaches in particular countries. And so, in the section of 'Polen' we
find the admittedly good work of St. Brukalski and Bruno Zborowski who were entrusted with the difficult task of designing the distinctive
regulation fan in Marymont. This naive boutonniere on the plan of Warsaw selected to represent "Poland" and the country's perspective on
the principles of urban planning does not bring us any special glory on the international forum. Other countries likewise, have randomly
and unimpressively been represented: Italy by Lemori's several good sketches, China by an interestingly laid-out house, Russia by mediocre
drawings of some unknown architect, etc. The foreign section lacks a focus and appears inconclusive: it must be regarded as unsuccessful,
obviously not holding the organizers at fault: See: 'Werkbund-Versuchssiedlung in Breslau. Ausstellung Wohnung und Werkraum', Die Baugilde
1929, vol.11, no.13, p.1006.
434 Edgar NORWERTH, op. cit. 'Section 2, displayed in the monumental Messehalle, is an impressive exhibit in its own right which has been
devoted to the building industry, structural solutions, fittings, etc. It is relatively small but very well organized and gives a good idea of modern
wall and floor construction systems and materials, beginning with various types of brick and ending with the newest substitutes: cellolit,
cellotex, solomit, etc.'
435 Ibidem.
436 'Werkbund-Versuchssiedlung in Breslau...', op.cit., p.1006. The conception of the Workspace section was criticised for simply recreating the
tailor and cabinetmaker's workshops and photographer's atelier rather than proposing model solutions.
437 Guido HARBERS, op.cit., p 289.
