This Mr. Byramji H. Cama, a mer-
chant of the highest integrity, was the
very first to fail by reason of the heavy
redrafts on his colossal cotton consign-
ments to Liverpool. His liabilities,
secured and unsecured, were at the time
computed at three crores of rupees. And
such indeed was his honesty that he
gave up all he had. This enabled the
Trustees, in spite of the heavy depression
which followed during the winding up of
his estate, to give a dividend of about
