GJiOUP OF ENGRAVED GLASS.—NAYLOR, PKINCES-STREET, CAVENDISH-SQUARE

The display of glass in the Exhibition is really excellent,
to say nothing of the Crystal Palace itself. An analysis
of the Prize-list will show that in the article of glass we
have no reason to be ashamed of our position, for, although
the French, in the person of M. Maes, have obtained the
distinction of a council medal, for " novelty of chemical
application," yet our great firms share amongst them no
fewer than fourteen prize-medals and fifteen " honour-

able mentions" out of a list of thirty-three of the first,
and thirty-six of the last.

It was our intention to have given the whole process of
glass-making, so ably illustrated by Apsley Pellatt, Esq.,
in the Exhibition, whose chandeliers and model of the
Koh-i-Noor will long be remembered ; but want of space
obliges us to dispose briefly of this class. The contribu-
tions of Mr. Naylor deserve high commendation, as a
