chiefly Maronites.
southern face, which appears to be nearly entire, has three doors. The wall, which is two feet
thick, is constructed of finely cut blocks, and some of them are of large size. There is a good
deal of ornamentation about the doors, especially over the central one, above which is a
decorated arch. The columns which formed the colonnade in front have mostly fallen. One
