Ccr/cM/crs setting up Standards and Scaffolds to the old W. Gable-end of the Church, for
ye Laborers to take down the top thereof, takeing down the said Standards & Scaffolds
after the top of the said Gable end was thrown down, Tuming the great Water-troughs
in the Vaults under ye Quire to carry away the Water falling upon the ftoor of the Quire
into the Street at the E. end, makeing two Strong Gibbetts for the Masons to set two
Tribune Arches in the S.E. and S.W. Legs of the Dome, makeing bridges to rowle the
Stones of the said Arches upon from the severall Sheeres to their places, & uncovering ye
Work to make room for the Masons to set ye Same, makeing another Bridge to rowle the
Cornice Stones upon to the S. side of the great round Staircase, & uncovering that Work,
makeing more bridges in the S. Isle of the Quire for the Masons to sett the Rygate passage
there, makeing Scaffolds at the E. end inside & outside for the Masons to carve the
Archatrave, makeing more bridges along the N. side, & makeing of Scaffolds & hoisting
up a pair of Sheeres there for the Masons to set their outside Cornice, makeing a Scaffold
& a bridge, & uncovering of the Work on the inside of the N. Portico, for the Masons to
set the inside Cornice there, fhxing a Center for a Tribune Window in Mr Strongs Work on
the N. side Westward from the Dome, makeing a Gibbet & uncovering that Work to set
the said Window, &c. JL & IK at 3s od p. day, 60 days, 24 at 2s 6d, 1034 days. 138 3

Z.a/wgT's, digging up and Screening all the Rubbish which lay in the N. and S. Isles of the
Quire, and in all places about the Dome & Porticos, wheeling the fine Rubbish to severall
heapes to make Mortar with. Takeing down part of the old W. gable end of the Church,
clearing the Stones thereof from the Rubbish, breaking in pieces the great hawed & fire
crackt stones to be used for Ruble, & wheeling & drudging them & the rest of the said
Stones & pileing them up in convenient heapes nere the Westward foundations wch are
yet unlaid, that they may be used therein, bruising of old Alabaster in a Mortar to make
Cyment for the Masons, melting of Lead, & running several Cramps therewth, &c. 20
(in Jan. & Feb. at i6d p. day) 504 days (in March at i8d), 420J days. 1 (in Jan. & Feb.
at i8d) 36 days, (in March at 2od) 26 days.
