House of Commons, Monday Night, November 26.—" Toby, M.P.,
sir, said Jeremiah Sullivan, of the Irish. Constabulary ; "in my

tne attention of the House of Commons; and bedad! if I can help it,
J- won't do it again."

A decent-looking man, Jeremiah ; a fine specimen of Irish
constabulary, but just now in rather limp condition.

Jeremiah," I said, " these Lamentations are natural enough on
your part. You've got into a mess ; but cheer up ; Balfour will
never desert you. In the meantime let this be a lesson to you.

Jeremiah a little puzzled with this simple impressive harangue;
upset altogether with proceedings of evening. Told me all about it.
