Ces lettres initiales, tirées d'une bible allemande, imprimée
sans date à Augsbourg, ont elles-mêmes été tirées plus ou
moins fidèlement par l'imprimeur d'un manuscrit du xc siècle.

Thèse capitals are borrowed from a german Bible printed at
Augsburg without date, and they have been reproduced more
or less accurately by tho printer from a M.S. dating of the
x1'1 century. la certain parts, they seem effcctively to have
been tampered witb, but notvvithstanding they are devoid
neither of character nor beauty.
