Une inscription indique que cet objet d'orfèvrerie a été
fabriqué à Augsbourg, vers la fin du xvie siècle. Il montre à
coup sûr une certaine originalité, mais peut-être serait-il témé-
raire d'y reconnaître une preuve parfaite de bon goût.

An inscription shows that this pièce of goldsmith' 3 work was
manufactured atAugsburg, at theend of the xvi"1 ceUury. It is
not devoid of a certain originality, but it weuld perhaps be over
assuming to acknowledge it as a perfect spécimen of good taste.
