fic work. In the case of Natalia LL, the symbolic discourse is that of a patriarchat
culture confronted by the discourse of feminism attempting to subvert it.
In the presented interpretations of Natalia LL’s works emphasis has been put on
one of their aspects only, i. e. on sexuality. The goal has been to tracę the ways in
which the artist situates herself by means of her works in the structures constituting
sexuality or, in other words, in what way, through representing eroticism and female
sexuality, she negotiates her status within those structures. The scope of analysis in-
cludes the works of Natalia LL from all the stages of her artistic activity: from the
earliest “Sfera intymna” (Intimate Sphere) to relatively recent “Marzenia Brunhildy”
(Brunhilda’s Dreams).
