were most in fashion : we do not meet with them in the later Phylakopi
fabrics. Fig. 13(J is painted in the same technique as a twin-vaso in Sevres
which has been already referred to.

V. 16 is a fragment of a goblet of a very common type, the lower part of
which is to be conceived as of the same general form as Fig. 137. The shape

of the neck varies considerably. Sometimes 'we find suspension-Kandles,
sometimes vertical handles like those of Fig. 137 ; others have horizontally
attached handles standing npright close against the neck, and a still further
variety is illustrated by XXIV. 14. The better fragments have a lustrous red
surface on which the marks of a paint-brush can frequently be detected.
