Gregorie, in artibus magistri, et vicarii de Fowne-
hope.
[His name does not appear in the institutions to Fown-
hope. But the Register of Bishop Westphaling (1586-
1603) is lost, and others about that time were very
carelessly kept.]
At the top of fol. 1a, is the autograph of Hugh Latimer, to
which has been added, in another hand, possibly Robert
Gregorie’s : “ burned in Q.Mres dayes.”
Collation :-l12-—1812 (11 and 12 cancelled : 9 and 10 blank).

Rebound in Oxford in 1854. Writing very small, but clear,
with many contractions : double columns with 33 lines :
fair ornament—on fol. 1 a small picture of a monk kneeling
before the virgin and child.
On flyleaf 1a, a rough drawing of a stag and “ Porter.” This
may be William Porter, Precentor of Hereford, 1515-1524,
who is buried, under a fine brass, in the Cathedral.
