A shepherd holding a crook looks down on his flock; at the right

185. The Ecchoing Green.

Round the stem of a shady tree are mothers seated with children
at their knees, Boys play games beyond. Poem below, with vine-
tendrils, a boy bowling a hoop, right, and a boy with a cricket bat,
left.

A father and mother leading boys and girls into a field. One boy
has a kite, another a cricket bat. At the right a vine, on a branch of
which a boy reclines and hands a bunch of grapes to another below.
At the left a child reaches up to pluck a cluster. Text between these
figures.
