(LIV.) Portion of a Pavement, of which the
pattern is formed by intersecting circles, green and
red, on a white ground. In the centre of each red circle
a cross, and in the centre of each green circle a quatrefoil.

Ht. 2 ft. 3 in. by 3 ft. 2J in. Carthage.

(LV.) Within an oblong border a Lozenge, within
which a circle enclosing two smaller circles, in each of
which a flower. On either side of the larger circle a lotus
flower; ground white; the pattern in black, orange, red,
green. This formed part of the same border as No. LTII.
(see Archaeologia, loc. cit., pi. ix.).

(LVI.) Part of Pavement, on which are squares
and rhomboid compartments, in each of which is
a flower. The ground is white; the pattern, black, red,
and green.

Ht. 3 ft. 11 in. by 2 ft, 11 in. Carthage.

(LVII.) Part of Pavement.—The pattern consists of
ivy-leaves scattered on a white ground within an oblong
border of two bands, cheeky black on white ground.

Ht. 3 ft. 2 in. by 9 ft. 4 in. Carthage.

(LV1II.) Angle of a Pavement, of which the border
is a wavy line. Within are pomegranate flowers and
leaves arranged in cruciform patterns on a white ground.
The predominant colours used in the patterns are red,
orange, and green.
