1806. Jar. ccxcv. 3fV in. The body covered with a
network, white on a black ground; round the shoulder a
yellow band between two white ones ; round the neck ver-
tical parallels in yellow; the whole on a black ground.

1807.--------------ccxcvn. 2-rs in. Design white and yellow

on a black ground ; a female head to the right, the long tresses
drawn back from the face, and tied at the roots behind ; on
either side a flower with many tendrils and volutes. H.

1808. Phiale omphalotos. cclix. IjV in. by 8xo in.
Round the central boss a frieze in relief, representing four
quadriga, each driven at full speed by a winged Nike, and con-
taining a deity, as apobales; an Eros, floating in the air, follows
each quadriga, holding out a sash, tainia, to crown the apobates ;
in one of the quadriga is Pallas Athene, armed with a
Corinthian crested helmet, and an Argolic buckler, on which
is an regis; she wears a talaric chiton, girt at the waist; under
the horses'' forefeet is a serpent; in the chariot behind her is
Herakles, holding in his left hand a club ; he is bearded, and
has the lion's skin thrown over his lower limbs ; under the
horses' forefeet is a fawn springing ; in the chariot behind
him is a warrior, probably Ares, armed with a Corinthian
helmet, a cuirass, and an Argolic buckler with a device in
relief in the centre; under the horses' forefeet is a boar ; in
the last of the four chariots is Dionysos, wearing a talaric
chiton, over which is a pardalis, and in his left hand a thyrsus;
a peplus flies from his shoulders ; under his horses' forefeet
a hind ; on the body of his chariot a figure running, in
relief ('?); the horses wear collars, lepadna, and belly-bands;
an ivy wreath runs round the vase above the heads of these
figures.

1809.--------------cclix. lyV in. by 1^ in. The same

subject as the last, less sharply executed.

1810.--------------cclix. Ixjj in. by 7xo in. In the

centre of the inside a boss or omphalos raised from below;
the omphalos encircled by a row of pellets, round which are
two circles of leaves, each marked with a triple fluting ; these
circles are embossed.

1811.-------------- cclix. lfV in. by 6TV in. The clay

inside the central boss is twisted so as to imitate the spiral
