(a) Departure of a warrior: In the centre is a youthful male figure to r.,
with chlamys over shoulders, spear in r. hand, and shield (on which is the
device of a star) resting against his hip ; in 1. hand he holds out a pilos to a
similar figure with spear in r. hand and chlamys over 1. arm. On the 1. is a
bearded male figure to r., with fillet, himation over 1. shoulder, and staff in
r. hand.
(b) Three ephebi in himatia, the centre one to 1.; each of the others has
a staff.

(a) In the centre is a youth seated on a rock to 1., nude, with spear in 1.
hand and r. hand on his knee ; on the 1. a female figure advances towards him,
with close cap, long chiton and himation. On the r. a female figure, attired as
the other one, moves away, looking back.
(b) Three ephebi conversing, wrapped in himatia, the centre one to 1. with
r. hand extended.

(a) Heracles to r., nude and beardless, seizes a Centaur round the middle,
raising him off the ground ; the Centaur looks back, with r. arm extended. On
the r. is Athene looking on, holding Heracles' club in r. hand, and a spear in
the 1., against which rests her shield (myrtle- or olive-wreath as device) ; she
wears a crested helmet ornamented with a spray, and long chiton with
diploidion.
(b) Three ephebi conversing, wrapped in bordered himatia ; the centre one,
who stands to r., wears endromides.

holding out a burning torch in r. hand to another youthful Satyr in front of
him, who turns back to look at him ; he has a wreath, chlamys over r. arm held
up in 1. hand, and a rhyton in r. hand.
