dark reddish clay is visible. Shallow form
with sharp lip and shoulder, very slightly
curved. The high loop handle is a flat
band standing on lip and shoulder, as
before. (Fig. 55-)

A 284. FOOT of goblet. Ht. 3 in. From Mycenae.

Part of the base is restored, and the foot has been
incorporated in a reconstruction of the shape, the
upper part being modelled from the fragment A 292. As J.H.S., I.e., fig. 7.

Fine grey ware, sharply turned. The foot is hollow, and consists of a
cylindrical stem standing on a low cone. The stem is ringed with four horizontal
grooves. The upper part of the goblet was a deep conical bowl, with sharp
lip and shoulder and two small flat loop handles. (Fig. 56.)

A 285i-5. FRAGMENTS of Minyan Ware. L. 4 in. to 2', in. From Argos. Nos. 1-3 from cups

of fine grey bucchero, very highly burnished ; hollow metallic form, as A 281. No. 4 from foot
of bowl; for the shape see J.H.S., xxxiv, p. 136, fig. 10. Narrow, slightly set-off foot of a
tall bowl, lightly made in coarse grey clay. No. 5 is from a bowl fluted below the lip, as A 298.

A 2861-2. HANDLE and part of shoulder of cups. L. 25 in., 3*5 in. From Tsani in Thessaly.

Fine grey ware, as before: Form as in A 282 ; round shoulder, flat handle irregularly ribbed.

A 287i-3. FRAGMENTS from stems of goblets. L. 3 in., i\ in. From Attica. Grey fabric.

Shape as A 284 : ringed cylindrical stem (1,2) and a similarly moulded fragment from the
bottom of the bowl (3).

A 2881-2. FRAGMENTS of ringed stems,

valley. Shapes as last, heavier fabric.

A 289. FRAGMENT of ringed stem. Diam. i\ in. From Zerelia in Thessaly. Similar shape,

lightly ringed with close narrow ribs. The fragment shows the floor of the bowl and top of stem.

A 290l-2. FRAGMENTS of ringed stems. L.4I in., 35 in.

From Dimini in Thessaly. No. 1, from a large stem,
is roughly modelled and fired red ; 2, from the bottom C
of a bowl, is dark grey ware.

A 291. FRAGMENT from lip of goblet. L. 3= in.

From Zerelia. Grey ware, roughly modelled. A slanting
side with narrow offset shoulder and a small flat loop
handle in the angle between this and the broad lip.

A 292. FRAGMENT from lip of goblet. L. 4} in.

From Dimini. Shape and fabric as last. A cast of
this piece has been used for reconstructing the bowl of
A 284. (Fig. 56.)
