brown varnish. Within the handle-ring, opposite the spout, is a conventional
flower with curling stalk, and on each side of the spout and beside one handle,
an ornament made of two or three parallel chevrons with curved-filled angle.
Round the shoulder is a band of half-discs within semi-
circles attached alternately to the upper and lower borders
of the band. On the body are two bands of thin lines
between broad lines ; on top of the false neck a disc within
a circle.

Presented, 1870. M.V., p. 10, no. 26b.
Globular shape ; light brown clay, rather
coarse in texture ; dull brown-black varnish.
Within the circle enclosing the handles are four
repetitions of a figure composed of a series of
triangles inscribed one within the other, the
smallest filled in solid. On the shoulder is a
band of pattern formed by a half-disc within a
semicircle attached at intervals alternately to the
upper and lower borders of the band. Spout and
false neck are connected by a loop ; on the slightly

the spout is a design composed of sprays of
spiral coils on each side of concentric semi-
circles between vertical lines ; on either side
of the spout, a hatched figure resembling a
duck's head, and concentric semicircles. On
the shoulder is a broad band of spiral-wave
