LATE MYCENAEAN.

189

FROM CALYMNOS (A 1001-A-1024).

These vases were obtained and presented by W. R. Paton in 1886.
According to information given to him locally, they were found (except A 1013
and A 1015) in a group of tombs near Pothia in the island of Calymnos.

They are not all of the same date : most belong to the end of the Mycenaean age, but
some, which are noted below, seem to be hardly later than its middle. The whole group may
therefore be assigned, like the later vases from Ialysos, to the second half of this period, Late
Mycenaean B.

Classical Review, i. (1S87), p. 80.
