Today it is elear that Zapolska’s collection was much larger than that which
was shown in Lwów or in Cracow. In August, 1893, in a letter to Laurysiewicz
written in Brittany is the following brief information: “I have a large ‘dotted’
painting, given to me by Antoine, and it will create a sensation in Warsaw.”49
It’s uncertain, unfortunately, which of the French pointillists had painted the
picture. In one of her “Parisian Letters” sent at the end of her sojourn in Paris,
