In a note on a communication to tbe Loeiet^ of Antiquaries, publisbed in tbe
twelftb volume of tbe ^rebmologia, Nr. Nubbins observes, tbat "tbe brst appear-
ance of tbe pointed areb in tbis country was probably towards tbe latter end of
tbe reign of Henr^ tbe bbrst, in tbe elrureb of brendsbur^, built b^ ?aulinus, tbe
sacrist, between tbe z^ears 1125 and 1137."^
