portant Minoan discoveries made this spring by Mr. R. B. Seager,
the excavator of Vasiliki, will appear in Mr. R. M. Dawkins's
account of the Archaeology of the year in J.H.S. xxvii. Part II.
Among many valuable suggestions made in Mr. G. G. A. Murray's
newly published Rise of the Greek Epic (Clarendon Press, 1907),
those interested in Crete should especially notice pp. 127-8,
on Minos and the Minotaur. Mr. Murray's gift of imaginative
insight is at its best in his vivid picture of the Migrations, pp.
