265. Calcareous stone. Height, 10^ inches. From the temple (Golgoi).

Male figure, in the act of drawing a short sword; the lower portion, from the
thighs downwards, wanting; right hand and sword-hilt broken. The figure wears a
helmet, with nose and cheek pieces; a short-sleeved garment, waist-belt, and kilt, on
which is the double uraeus, in low relief. The sword hangs by a strap passing over the
right shoulder, and is held under the left arm. The statuette is sculptured on the
round, and vigorously executed. Traces of red color on the kilt and belt. The head,
broken off, was repaired.

266. Calcareous stone. Height, 1 foot 3}- inches. From the temple (Golgoi).
Female figure, with arms hanging by the sides, and left leg slightly advanced, as

in the act of walking; the knees are rudely indicated. The figure wears a short-sleeved
upper-garment, and broad belt passing between the legs; a broad head-band, with hair
falling behind to the shoulders; with ear-rings.

267. Calcareous stone. Height, 1 foot 8^ inches. From the temple (Golgoi).
Statuette, with conical cap; chiton reaching to the feet; himation, in which the

right arm is doubled; the left arm hangs by the side. The hand holds a round object.
The legs are close together.

a round object.

Upper portion of a statuette, broken off above the right elbow, similar to No. 269.
