448. Statuette, of calcareous stone. Height, 1 foot 5 inches. Found in the temple
(Golgoi).
Female figure, broken off at the knees. The lower forearms, which are wanting,
were raised; on the left forearm a fragment, apparently the tail of a dove. Wears
a chiton, the material and folds of which are indicated by parallel wavy lines; it is girt
at the waist, the ends hanging down.
A himation hangs over the left shoulder, and, passing behind, is thrown over the
right arm. A wreath of leaves encircles the head. The surface is well preserved.
449. Statuette, of calcareous stone. Height, 2 feet 2I inches. Found in the temple
(Golgoi).
Female figure, broken off near the line of the knees, with arms hanging by the
sides, but slightly advanced. A chiton, with sleeves to the elbows, and a himation, car-
ried over the left shoulder and under the right arm. The vertical folds down the left
side are indicated by a broad band, without detail. The hair, falling to the shoulders
behind, is rendered by parallel grooved lines from the crown forward, and is bound near
the forehead by a narrow fillet, in front of which there is a row of short curls. The
left hand is damaged.

ple (Golgoi).
Female figure, with diadem round the head, hair falling in a mass behind on the
shoulders. Spiral ear-rings. The arms hang by the sides, and are partly free from the
body. A waist belt, which passes between the legs; short-sleeved, close-fitting chiton.
Portion below the thighs is wanting. Surface mutilated and worn.

Female figure, the right hand holding a dove by the wings; the fore part of
the bird is wanting; in the left hand a small round box. The arms and the left leg
