a parting of the hair over the centre of the forehead, above which there is a narrow
fillet. The nose is damaged, and the surface much worn.

462. Head, of calcareous stone. Height, 33 inches. Found in the ruins of
Idalium.

Female figure, with frisure in transverse ridges on the top, and without detail
on the back. The surface seems to have been damaged by fire.

463. Head, of calcareous stone. Height, 6is inches. Found in the temple
(Golgoi).

Head, of a young female figure, with frisure in transverse ridges. Over the
forehead the hair is arranged in small puffs, with vertical incised lines. Eyebrows
marked by raised surfaces. Traces of red color on the lips. Surface well preserved.

464. Head, of calcareous stone. Height, 3!T inches. Found in Carpassia, on a
mountain in the north-east of Cyprus.

Female figure similar to No. 462; surface much damaged, as if by fire.

465. Head, of calcareous stone. Height, 4^ inches. Found in the temple
(Golgoi).

Female figure, with frisure detailed in four transverse ridges in front, behind
which is a plain surface.

466. Head, of calcareous stone. Height, 61 inches. Found in the temple
(Golgoi).

Female figure, with fillet tied in a knot over the forehead. The hair is detailed
over the head. The eyebrows are prominently marked by a raised surface. Tip of the
nose somewhat damaged. Traces of red color on the fillet and lips.

467. Head, of calcareous stone. Height, 5 inches. Found in the temple (Golgoi).
Female figure, with ear-rings and heavy turban; hair falling behind, without

detail; small curls conventionally indicated around the forehead. Spiral ear-rings. Surface
worn.
