503. Of calcareous stone. Height, 6! inches. Found in a tomb in the necropolis
(Golgoi).

Oblong rectangular box, standing on four high legs, or supports. The outside
is ornamented with patterns of incised lines and small cup-shaped cavities. Within there
is a projecting portion on one of the longer sides, at the top of which is a round hole,
in which a cover has been fastened.

504. Of calcareous stone. Height, 4J. inches. Found in a tomb at Idalium.

A box similar in shape to the preceding. At both ends a rude female figure, in low
relief, nude, and with upraised arms. Traces of black color, to represent hair. On one side
(see below) an antelope, in low relief, followed, or pursued, by a dog; on the opposite side
irregular patterns of incised lines, with three / "swastikas" (?). The lower part of the

box is sculptured " a. jour."

505. Of calcareous stone. Height, 6f inches. Found in a tomb in the necropolis
(Golgoi).

A box similar to No. 503; one of the legs broken at the end. At each end of the
box a human figure, rudely designed in incised lines, with upraised arms, under
which are " swastikas" (?). The whole enclosed by a frame of double incised
lines, on either side of which is an antelope. On the legs and upper border

patterns of incised lines; on the sides are incised lines, lozenge-shaped.

506. Another side view of the box represented at No. 503.

507. A similar box, of the same material as the preceding ones, without surface
ornaments, having the legs connected by a framework. Height, 51. inches. Found in a
tomb in the necropolis (Golgoi).

508. Another side view of the box represented at No. 507.

509. A similar box, of the same material as the preceding ones, decorated with pat-
terns of dots and incised lines in lozenge shape. Found in a tomb in the necropolis (Golgoi).
