PLATE XLV. CONTINUED.

359. Red terra cotta, exterior now gray. Height, 2^4 inches. Found at the Salines,
near Larnaca.

Fragment of a faun, or satyr, bearded ; apparently running in pursuit of his natural prey ;
hands upraised to head ; rudimentary horns. Left hand, and all of the body below the loins,
broken away. Traces of red color here and there.

360. Red terra cotta. Height, inches. Found at the Salines, near Larnaca.
Fragment of a faun, or satyr; features more goatish than in No. 358. Horns spread in a

curve over the forehead, from the root of the nose, between the eyebrows. Forehead wrinkled ;
hair above it; beard with curling ends ; long bestial ears on the sides of the head. A head-dress
present, but undefinable because of breakage. Body shaggy below the beard. On the breast is
the head of some animal (panther ?) for ornament. Part of right arm, left side, and all of figure
below the waist, broken away.
