Plate XV,
Gold Earrings, with bull or calf-head ends. The specimens vary from 3^ inch to i % inch
in diameter. The general design is the same in all cases and consists of a bull's head with short
horns; features more or less distinctly marked. Joined to the hoop by a closed rosette, a ball
ornament, or by a combination of both. A few have a plain wire loop, but most are of twisted
wire, some being made of strands alternately plain and ridged. Nos. 15 and 16 show double heads.
In No. 12 the neck is composed of a bead. The eyes were originally inlaid. Fastened by
in-hooks which engaged rings beneath the muzzle. The collection contains thirty-nine examples
of similar pattern. All were found in tombs at Dali.
