Tapering silver bow, drawn down to make a pivot for seal. Fully modelled scarab, which
shows a winged hieracosphinx, seated on a " lord " sign, facing a " life " sign. The whole enclosed
by an oval line. See Cesnola, Cyprus, page 376: 15; plate XXXVII, 15.

6. Seal, Swivel. Silver, gold and steatite. Diameter i3/£ inch. Collet Y^/i inch.
Tapering silver bow, drawn down to eyelets in gold collet. Seal is a scarab, Egyptian,

engraved with a symmetrical design. Above is a " life " sign with a divided foot flanked by two
triangular ornaments without special significance. In centre is a similar, larger "life" sign with
a "good" sign between its feet. Flanking same are two uraei wearing the pschent, or double
crown of Upper and Lower Egypt. Beneath all is a "lord" sign.

7. Seal, Swivel. Silver and sard. Diameter \]/% inch. Scarab 1%2X%6 inch.
Tapering silver bow, ending in a shoulder next to ends of scarab seal. The scarab is well

modelled; bottom shows well made, seated, winged hieracosphinx with head turned backward and
erect tail. Small disk above, and indistinct objects in front of and below the sphinx. See

8. Seal, Swivel. Silver and carnelian. Diameter \xih2 inch. Scarab 1%2X7/ie inch.

Tapering silver bow, ending in shoulders. Scarab is well modelled. Bottom shows com-
posite motives. Winged rayed disk above; man and erect lion in combat. The man wears an
imitation of the Osirian crown, with a streamer behind. At side is an erect uraeus with the
"white " crown of Upper Egypt. Under all is a " lord " sign. See Cesnola, Cyprus, page 372 :

9. Seal, Swivel. Silver, gold, and steatite. Diameter \l/A inch. Collet S/sxyi inch.
Tapering silver bow, ending in points as pivots. Thin gold rim as collet. Scarab seal,

slightly modelled; bottom engraved with seated sphinx wearing Osirian crown. In front is an
indistinct conical object, and above the haunches of the sphinx is a winged uraeus, erect. Oval
line about all. See Cesnola, Cyprus, page 371 : 22 ; plate XXXV, 22.

Tapering silver bow, originally gilded ; heavy chaton. Scarab seal, showing a seated

deity and a standing worshipper with a table between them. Above is a winged disk, and below
