long. Characters y% to 3/s inch high. Quite plain.

"Of Phoitos (or, Poitos) the tagos."
The last word is the name of an office. See No. 7 above.

14. On the edge of a lamp of red terra cotta, with figure of Silenus (?) or Bes (?). The
whole object is shown on a reduced scale in Vol. II, CXLII, No. 1059. From Carpass (Carpasso).
Inscription 2 inches long. Characters % to 1/% inch high ; all very plain ; made while the clay
was soft.
