I. THE following rules are enacted for receiving, trying, and deciding
suits or complaints declared cognizable in the Courts of Dewanny Adawlut
'established in the several zillahs, and in the cities of Patna, Dacca, and
Moorshedabad.
II. No complaint is to be received but from the plaintiff, n'or any
answer to a complaint but from the defendant, or their respective vakeels
duly empowered. Nor is any person to be permitted to do any act, or to
be heard viva voce in any stage of a cause, excepting the plaintiff or
defendant, or their vakeels or witnesses.
III. Every complaint that may be presented to the Court of Dewanny
Adawlut of any zillah, or of either of the cities of Patna, ZbddT?, or
