enable them to determine on their due weight and application to the

V. It was not intended by Section VIII. of Regulation V. 1793, or by
the Second Clauses of Sections IV. and V. of Regulation VI. 1793, to
require the Courts or Sudder Dewanny Adawlut to enter into
the merits of the cases therein referred to; but the terms of the above
section and clauses having been understood to admit some doubt on this
head, they are hereby rescinded, and the three following sections are sub-
stituted for them respectively.
VI. * The AVo2h72U2%/ Chmhy are empowered to receive any petitions
respecting suits or matters that may be depending, or have been decided
in any Zz&xf o?" (7^2/Court within their respective jurisdictions; and pro-
vided it shall be proved to their satifaction that the petition was pre-
sented, or that due means were used to effect its being presented to the
judge, and that he refused or omitted to receive it and proceed on it, or in
the last-mentioned case, that undue means were used by any of the officers
of the court to prevent the petition being presented, the court are
empowered to issue a precept, under the seal of the court %72G? <^2/
commanding the judge to receive the petition, and to proceed
respecting it according to the Regulations.
VII. * The Sudder Dewanny Adawlut are vested with authority to
receive any petitions respecting suits or matters that may be depending,
or have been decided, in any Zf/AxA or U2Y2/ Court; and provided it shall
be proved to their satisfaction that the petition was presented to the
judge of such court, and that he refused or omitted to receive it and pro-
ceed on it, and that the complainant applied to the 7h'0V 272 C2u7 of
Appoof 0%V52072, and that such court omitted or refused to grant the
precept specified in Section VI. of this Regulation, the court are empowered
to issue a precept, under the seal of the court and attested by the register,
commanding the judge to receive the petition, and to proceed respecting it
according to the Regulations.
VIII. * The Sudder Dewanny Adawlut are vested with authority to
receive any petitions respecting appeals or matters that may be depending,
or have been decided in anyfb'owmh^ Domif q/ Appo%D and provided it
shall be proved to their satisfaction that the petition was presented
to the and that they refused or omitted to receive
it, the court are empowered to issue a precept, under the seal of the
court and attested by the register, commanding the 7Vo2?2hcmJ to
receive the petition, and proceed respecting it according to the Regula-
tions.

now be understood to apply to the courts now existing in the same relation to each other;
