1. WHEREAS it is expedient that persons charged with crimes should be
speedily brought to trial, and that witnesses should not be exposed to the
inconvenience and expense arising from a long absence from their homes,
the Governor-General in Council has determined that a Court of Circuit
shall be estabiisbed in the provinces ceded by the Nawaub Vizier to the
Honourable the East-India Company, and that such court shall proceed
twice in every year to the several zillahs, for the purpose of trying and
determining criminal cases, agreeably to the following rules.
