' VII. The Mahomedan law officers of the Court of Nizamut Adawlut
shall continue to deliver their joint futwa upon the trials referred to that
court, as far as may he practicable. But whenever, from the number of
trials in reference, it may be requisite for their speedy decision that they
should be divided amongst the law officers for revision, it shall be com-
petent to any one of the law officers to deliver a futwa thereupon. Pro-
vided that if any one of the law officers of the Nizamut Adawlut, on
revising the proceedings held upon the trial, shall not concur with the law
officer of the (737227*? o/ (737*0322? before whom the trial may have been held,
as to the conviction of the prisoner, he shall not write the futwa until one
or more of the other law officers of the Nizamut Adawlut can deliver the
same in concert with him, after perusal of the proceedings.
