Stuart, except that the left hand of the Centaur appears naked,
instead of being enveloped in the lion's skin, as on the original
marble.
It appears from Stuart that, between the fragment represented
in this plate, and the subject of the next, there was a group of
a Centaur and a Greek engaged in a severe contest, the issue of
which appears somewhat doubtful, though the Greek has been
thrown upon his knees, and is strongly pressed upon by the legs
of his opponent.
