other means could be supported sb as
to render it upon occasion Flexible,
but by Muscles, since they only are
capable of a greater Contraction and
Relaxation than any other Springy
Bodies competed of Ligaments, ejre.
Thus having briefly Treated of allthose
Mufcles, its jet known that appear in the
Trunk o s the Body; we come next to those
belonging to the Artus, and sirfi of those
that move the Arm ; two os which,
namely, the Pecloralis & Longissimus,
we were obliged to DiJfec7,Pag. 104.1 ix.
to difcover their Subjacent Mufcles, but
we fhall now describe them amongfl the
reft, as the order of Disseaion requires ;
for the convenient Performance of which,
we are wont to take of the whole Arm to-
gether, with the Scapula andClavicula,
by dividing the latter from the Os Pe-
ctoris, by which means the trouble in
examining the following Mufcles is lejsened,
those moving the Scapula being Cut
srom it.
