Sky cobalt ; the clouds cobalt and little light red ;
afterwards a light tint of yellow ochre; the mountains cobalt and light red
; the nearer mountains add more light red ~ ; the shadow on
the middle distance light red and indigo J; the trees in the middle
distance indigo, gamboge, and little lake, or light red ; the green in
the foreground varied, viz. :—gamboge and burnt sienna , with more
burnt sienna, and with gamboge, burnt sienna, and indigo ;
second touches with a stronger tint of the same ; the road light red
and a little lamp black; shadow upon the mountains indigo ' ;
in darker or nearer mountain add a little lake to the indigo ; the
shadows upon the trees the same as the first tint, viz., indigo, gamboge,
and little lake ; in finishing the foreground dark brown, pink, and
Vandyke brown; shadows upon the road light red and black, Vandyke
brown and burnt sienna may be used in light tints upon the road.
