28. Four Fragments of Bronze Spits. Pl. XXXV.
M.S.1239a, b, c and d. The longest fragment measures
0.0563 m. The diameter of all four varies, the spits
having been stouter at the middle than at the ends.
29. Hollow Bronze Handle from the Inside of a
Shield. PL XXXV. M.S.1237, L. 0.23 m. Fashioned
from a single sheet of bronze. Six rivets are preserved,
four in place, the conical ends of which would have shown
on the outside of the shield. Around the bases of these
conical ends may be seen bits of thin bronze, the remains,
it would seem, of the outer covering of the shield.

and b, D. 0.015 m. One is provided with a shank for
sewing, the other with a point for nailing.
31. Bronze Razor Knife. PI. XXXVII. M.S.
1238, L. 0.095 m. Outer part missing. Incised lines
parallel and adjacent to the curve of the inner margin;
from the outermost of these to a line parallel to outer edge
incised lines arranged in groups of three.
32. Bronze Twisted Ring. PL XXXVII. M.S.
1240, D. 0.054 m. Open and the ends flattened and
perforated, where they overlap, for a rivet. This and
the following rings may have belonged to No. 21, or 22.
