feet diameter. The walls, of tufa, stuccoed, are
tastefully painted, and crowned with a dome of
a singular bell-like form, on the flat top of which
is painted a face, or Medusa. Some cinerary
urns, of coarse earth, were found within.

Pompeii, and remarkable in being covered with
extremely low relievos \ painted, of gladiatorial
