Munich has for long been renowned to be the chief home of german
artistic-industry and the Bavarian art-industrial union has remarkably con-
tributed to that reputation by the rieh Contents and extended circulation
of its periodical. Faithful to its tendency, not only to lend a ready hand
of assistance to the artistic handicraftsman, but also to secure an increasing
number of adherents to german art-industry, the endeavours of this periodical
with the great variety of its Contents are chiefly directed to render the
best of the modern artistic-industrial produetions generally accessible and
to make room for the works of modern masters as far as they are of
value as modeis for the present time.
The Contents of this exceedingly well furnished periodical consist of
two parts the: text and the artistic Supplements. Though the text
is of great scientific aecomplishment, care is taken to offer a rieh material
of modeis by its illustrations; last year's series for instance contains above
100 illustrations to the text, among which were several full-page and half-
page ones, the cliches, with only four exceptions, being all made by order
of the periodical.
The "artistic Supplement" produeed in the way of aquarell print,
zincotype, phototype etc. raisc this periodical to the first place among all
periodical publication of German artistic industry.
Whilstthe "periodical" in its main part is of scientific artistic character,
the "appendix" comprises only the news oftheday: reports concerning
German art-industrial unions, museums, schools; about exhibitions, sub-
missions for eompetition, art-industrial literature etc.
Specimen-nurabers will be sent on (jemand,
