Konstanty BRANDEL SK
Warsaw 1880 - Paris 1970
He studied at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts under Julian Fafat, Jozef Unierzyski and Jacek
Malczewski, and in Paris, where his teachers were L.O. Merson and J.E. Blanche. In 1903 he
took a permanent residence in Paris, where he studied in Vitti's private academy and in the Ecole
Nationale et Speciale des Beaux-Arts. He was a member of the Association of Polish Artists in
Paris, the Association of Polish Graphic Artists and the Polish Society of Book Lovers.
He practised mainly graphic art: etching, dry-point and - in the years 1917-1932 - woodprint.
From 1945 he created oil paintings, water-colours, gouaches and pastels of high colour value.
