A painter and teacher in the State Secondary School of Plastic Arts in Rzeszow.

Eugeniusz GEPPERT SK
Lvov 1890 - Wroclaw 1979
In 1908 he studied painting in Leonard Stroynowski's School in Cracow; next (1912-1914 and
1918-1920), he studied at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts under Jacek Malczewski and Stanislaw
Dpbicki. He spent the period 1914-1917 exiled to Orenburg in Ukraine; until 1918 he stayed in
the Polish Eastern Corps on the Russian territory. In the years 1926-1927 he lived in Paris. He
was a member of the Association of Artists "Zwornik" and editor of "Glos Plastykow". Following
the war, he co-organized the State College of Plastic Arts in Wroclaw, of which he was a professor
and first rector; in 1961 he co-founded the "School of Wroclaw", later called the Wroclaw Group.
He was involved in art criticism and popularization of art; he wrote the books: formaine
i nie/orma/nezagadnienia uj mafarstude po/skim (1947), Moj'a droga (1968), Przeszfosc da/eka
i biiska (1977). A colourist, he painted figural compositions (often with the motif of horse), nudes,
portraits, and still lifes.
