He studied under the supervision of Marian Maiina at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts (dipioma
in 1959), where he iater undertook his pedagogicai work. He was iinked to the Varsovian Gaiiery
Foksai'; he was aiso an actor in Tadeusz Kantor's "Cricot 2" Theatre. In 1965 he participated in
the Biennial of Spatial Forms in Elblqg, and in 1971 he won the Cyprian Kamil Norwid Award of
Art Critics.
A painter, sculptor and conceptualist, he creates spatial forms that register a mathematical idea
close to visualism, clearly influenced by the tradition of Polish constructivism.

In the years 1926-1932 he studied at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts under Teodor Axentowicz,
Wladyslaw Jarocki, Ignacy Pienkowski, and Wojciech Weiss, as well as in the Parisian Branch of
the Academy under Jozef Pankiewicz.
Before the war a post-impressionist, after 1945 he opted for the objectless abstract art from the
in/orme/ circle.
