Adam HOFFMANN SK
Cracow 1918 - Cracow 2001
At first (1938) he attended Alfred Terlecki's Private School of Painting; in the years 1940-1942 he
studied in the StaatHche Kunstgewerbeschule in Cracow and belonged to the conspirational Group
of Young Plastic Artists. In the period 1944-1948 he continued his studies at the Cracow Acad-
emy of Fine Arts under Wladyslaw Jarocki, Eugeniusz Eibisch and Konrad Srzednicki (diploma in
1955). In 1955 he participated in the All-Polish Exhibition of Young Plastic Artists "Against War,
Against Fascism" in the Varsovian Arsenal. He was a teacher connected with the State Secondary
School of Plastic Arts in Katowice and the Faculty of Graphic Art in the Katowice branch of the
Cracovian Academy; from 1975 to 1978 he directed the atelier of drawing at the Graphic Faculty
of the Academy.
He wrote works on artistic education and acted as a painter, drawer and poster designer interested
in both surrealism and the expressiveness of the depicted world.
