Jozef JAREMA SK

In the years 1919-1923 he studied at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts under Jacek Malczewski,
Stanislaw Dpbicki, Wladyslaw Jarocki, and Ignacy Pienkowski, while in the years 1923-1924 in
the Parisian Branch of the Cracovian Academy under Jozef Pankiewicz. He co-founded the Paris-
ian Committee (KP) and co-organized the pre-war Theatre of Artists "Cricot", for which he wrote
stage scripts and worked as a stage director; he was one of the authors of the Wawel plafonds.
Together with E. Prampolini he founded the Art Club, which he chaired (from 1945 in Rome and
from 1951 in Nice); in 1963 he co-created the 1st Festival of Plastic Arts of the Cote d'Azure.
He was a painter who occupied himself with easel and monumental painting, artistic textiles and
film; before the war a colourist, after 1945 he became involved in abstract painting; a theatrologist.
