Stanisiaw KRZYSZTALOWSKI BM
The Hutsul Region 1903 - Cracow 1990
He graduated from the Faculty of Law at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow in 1927. He
continued his education in Kazimierz Sichuiski's atelier of painting in Lvov. He spent the time of
Worid War 11 interned in Hungary - he graduated then from the Academy of Fine Arts in Buda-
pest. Having returned to Poiand, he completed his studies at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts
in the years 1945-1947.
Apart from easel paintings, he created murals built of clear colour patches, on the borderline
between classical and abstract art. The titles of his works are often metaphorical.
