In the years 1940-1942 he attended the School of Artistic Industry in Cracow, studying under
Fudwik Wojtyczko, Jozef Mehoffer and Andrzej Jurkiewicz. In the period 1945-1948 he carried
on his education at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts under Wojciech Weiss, Eugeniusz Eibisch
and Fudwik Gardowski (diploma in 1952). From 1948 he was employed as a teacher at the
Cracovian Academy, acquiring the title of full professor and acting as rector.
A painter interested in landscape themes and still lifes, which were for him a pretext for experi-
ments with colour. He dealt also with poster, book illustration, graphic designing, animated car-
toons and stage scenery.
