He studied in the State College of Plastic Arts in Gdansk (diploma in 1953). In 1955 he parti-
cipated in the All-Polish Exhibition of Young Plastic Artists "Against War, Against Fascism" in the
Varsovian Arsenal. He was a co-founder of the "Sopot school" of the younger generation, the
winner of - a. o. - the Award of the "Golden Grape" (within the framework of the exhibition and
symposium) in Zielona Gora in 1979.
He practises expressive painting, representing poetical visions of concrete landscapes, sometimes
symbolic, based on contrasting colours and dense texture.

In the years 1948-1954 he studied at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts (diploma under Hanna
Rudzka-Cybisowa in 1954). He participated, a. o., in the All-Polish Exhibition of Young Plastic
Artists "Against War, Against Fascism" in the Varsovian Arsenal in 1955; in 1988 he took part in
the closed competition for the plafond in the National Philharmonic Hall in Warsaw.
A professor of the Cracovian Academy.
A painter colourist with symbolic interests.
